Mrs. Zecolla's Email 10-2-17

JC:  This Friday, parents will begin setting up for the Jaguar Classic (JC) at 4:00 PM at the stadium. Please come if you can. We need people to bring lawn blowers to clean the stadium. We blow all of the trash out of the stadium and press box. The press box gets cleaned (windows, chairs, tables) along with the area around concessions. We set up all tents, tables, chairs, trashcans, etc.

Bake Sale items should be packaged for individual sale. You are allowed to make baked goods at home. You may purchase store items if you aren't a baker. If making cookies, please package 3-4 small or 1-2 large in Ziploc bags. If your item contains nuts, please leave a note with your item. You may send items into the band room on Friday or bring them to the stadium Bake Sale table on Saturday. You can send your items in a box, bag, or tray. Throw away items are best.

At the conclusion of setup, approximately 6:00-6:30 PM, we will have a parent session in the band room to discuss jobs for the next day. If this is your first time helping, you are working a new job, or you just want a refresher, please join us in the band room. We are still in need of people to pull trailers and work other jobs. Contact Mr. Gibson or a Booster Member if you need to sign up for a job.

BoA:  Student hotel and bus payment of $80 is due. Students will be selecting room assignments tomorrow. Buses are expected to depart FHS at 6:00 PM on October 13th.Students should pack a meal or bring money for dinner Friday night. The buses will stop for fast food along the way.  The hotel will provide breakfast at 5:30 AM Saturday. The Boosters are having lunch delivered to the stadium Saturday. Students will need concessions money and money for dinner Saturday night. Students are welcome to pack their own snacks/drinks to bring with them. The Boosters will bring some bottled waters and snacks for after the performance. There is limited space on the the bus so we can't bring much. Continue to check the forestviewband.blogspot, com for the latest information from Mr. Gibson. He will use Remind 101 to communicate with parents while at BoA. If Forestview qualifies for FINALS, we will return very late Saturday night.

Students need to pack black socks, band shoes, gloves, show shirt, gym shorts or leggings/long johns (depending on weather) and their instrument. Students will take their garment bag with band uniform and hat box on the bus. Students are not allowed to bring gaming systems to the hotel. Cell phones and tablets are allowed. Don't forget to bring chargers.

Chaperone rooming information will be given out within the next week. I'm waiting on final room availability from the hotel as they are still under the renovation process.

Thank you parents for all your help! It takes a Village!
