NY TRIP UPDATE

Parents and Students,

Please remember that the numbers have been finalized for the NYC trip since December. (52 students 18 chaperones)  If you decide to remove your child from going on this trip, you will still be responsible for paying the full amount.

ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED BAND BOOKS by 2-13-17

There will be a material check on Monday 2-13-17.  All students must have their band method book, pencil, music and instrument at their seat for a 100% for a quiz grade.  If a student is missing any of these items at the time of the material check they will receive a 0%. The book can be ordered online or at any music store.

INDOOR DRUM LINE AND WINTER GUARD COMPETITION THIS SATURDAY

Parents,
The indoor drum line and winter guard have the first performance of the season on 1-21-17. The winter guard and indoor drum line will perform at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill SC. We will be carpooling to the event. Again, I am very proud of all of the students accomplishments in these ensembles.  Here is some important information about the event on Saturday January 21st:
GUARD
-          Guard students will rehearse from 8am-9:45am
-          Guard students will car pool to the event. We will leave FHS at 10:00am.
-          Bring money for concessions. We will go out to lunch around 1pm.
-          Guard performs at Northwestern High School at 12:31pm ($10 admission for parents)
-          Guard will help pull out indoor drum-lines mat at 3:43pm
-          Award Ceremony is at 9:45pm for guard and percussion.
-          Students can leave the event with a note from their parents.
-          Admission is $10 for adults ($8 children 5-12) Children 5 and under are free

DRUMLINE
-          Drum- line students will rehearse from 7:30am – 9:30am.
-          Drum-line students will report to the school at 9:30am to load the equipment.
-          Drum-line students will car pool to the event. We will leave FHS @ 10:00am
-          Students will load the trailer by 10:00am
-          Students will help pull the guard floor at 12:30pm (Bring money for concessions for lunch)
-          Drum-Line performs at Northwestern High School at 3:43pm
-          After the performance drum-line will go out for dinner around 5:30pm
-          Award Ceremony for percussion is 9:45pm.
-          Students can leave the event with a note from their parents.

All guard members can leave with their ride after their performance.  All indoor drum-line members can leave after their performance as well but if you decided to take your child after the performance or award ceremony Mr. Gibson or a staff member will need a note before you leave stating that you will take your child after the event. Please leave a message on the band cell phone 803-619-9834 to let Mr. Gibson know you have left SPHS with your parents.
