TAKE HOME YOUR INSTRUMENT TODAY AND PRACTICE
Students,
It will be required that you take home your instrument today over the thanksgiving break and practice. Just like Math,Science, History class etc... You do have HW for band class. Every day you should be working on scales and long tones just like our warm-up. Then you should break down the music that you have in concert band beat by beat measure by measure. Also remember assignments are posted on this website as well as the whiteboard every day. Here is a link that I think you will find interesting about practicing.

Tomorrow 11-7-14 you will report to the auditorium at the beginning of 2nd period. The Winthrop University Symphonic Band will be performing at 9:45am. The concert should last about an hour. All of your teachers are aware of this performance. You will not be marked absent from second period to attend.

Veterans Day Parade 11-11-14

This year's Veteran's Day Parade will be on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. The parade begins at 11am, the combined bands will meet at the Shrimp Boat at 10 am. All winds and drum line participants will wear their full uniform.
This is optional for Forestview this year. If students decide to go they will receive extra credit. We will meet at 9:15am at FHS to pick up uniforms and instruments . We are not taking a bus to this event. We will car pool to the shrimp boat. Students must have a ride to drop them off and to pick them up.

Fundraisers

The band sold 25 mattresses on Saturday! Thank you all for helping with this fundraiser! The Band earned over $2500!!
This Friday concludes our Fruit Fundraiser! All money and order forms will be collected Friday during 4th period! Thank you all in advance for your help with this!
This Friday is also our port-o-pit fundraiser! All tickets will be collected (sold/unsold) tomorrow during 4th period.
