All Students should be practicing daily. Everyday students receive home work. Please help in making sure all students are doing their assignments at home. (They should be practicing their fundamental warm ups for tone/sound. They should be practicing all band music with a metronome.)
Monday and Tuesday will be placement auditions for our 3rd and 4th period spring bands. This will also count as playing test. All 9th-12th grade students will be evenly placed in 3rd and 4th period band in the spring. Only students who are enrolled in the fall have this opportunity to audition for the wind ensemble. Both ensembles in the spring will learn the same music and combine on a spring concert.
All wind players (Brass/Woodwinds) will be responsible for sight reading and all 12 major scales.
All Percussion students will be responsible for sight reading, 12 major scales and the first 10 rudiments from vic firth.(open and closed) Percussion students will only play the rudiments if they would like to try out for snare,bass and timpani.
