Hello Band Families!

Band fees should be paid in full. All checks submitted for payment are payable to Forestview HS Band Boosters. Write "Band Dues" on the envelope. If you have financial questions, you can email Courtney Kaylor at forestviewbandtreasurer@gmail.com

Color guard members have received their uniform. Parents should submit a check or cash for $68.00  Write "Guard Uniform" on the envelope.

The $80 Bands Of America hotel and bus fee is due by Sept. 26th. Write "BOA" on the envelope. Please contact me ASAP if you would like to chaperone the BOA event. Chaperones can ride the bus for free and will receive an admittance ticket to the event ($27 value). Chaperones will need to be approved volunteers with Gaston County Schools. Hotel costs for chaperones are 4 per room=$28 per person. The hotel is under renovation. As more rooms become available, I might be able to book chaperones at 2 per room=$57 per person. Let me know your preference of # people in your room.  You may book your own room if you find availability. I will assign adults to rooms. Students will room with other students, not adults/parents/chaperones.

The Jaguar Classic will be October 7th. Each student will need 2 adults to volunteer on this day. Sign ups are on the whiteboard in the band room. If you did not attend the Sept. parent meeting, you will need to sign up this week for a job. If you need clarification about job descriptions, please see a Booster member or
Mr. Gibson. I will be in the band room Friday before and after the football game to answer any questions or help you select a job. I will also be there Saturday at 11:00 AM. We desperately need parents with trucks and trailers to help with this event.

The competition season begins next weekend!
There will be a home football game against Crest HS Friday at 7:30 PM . The band will be in full uniform! Students need to wear their show shirt, gym shorts (not cargo shorts), black socks, and band shoes. Students will perform the show during halftime. I need parents to help with drum major podiums during National Anthem and the halftime show. Also, I need parents to help remove props from the field after the performance. Please see me during the first quarter if you can help. I will be seated with the band. Kristie Tweed will contact you if you are signed up for snacks/drinks this weekend.

Mr. Gibson has posted the times for Olde English Festival of Bands this Saturday on the website. http://forestviewband.blogspot.com/
I need a parent with a truck and trailer or box truck to bring the props to the competition in Rock Hill. You will receive an admission ticket for your help. Please contact myself or Mr. Gibson immediately if you can assist. The buses will arrive around 12:30 PM at District 3 stadium in Rock Hill. If you can assist with getting props and front ensemble equipment on and off the field, find the band trailer (located on the opposite side of the stadium from car parking) at 1:30 PM. I will need 16-20 parents to assist.

I need 2 parents to ride the buses as chaperones on Saturday. You will receive admission to the event for chaperoning. Please let me know this week if you are interested. All chaperones need to be approved volunteers with Gaston Co. Schools.

Water bottles and sports drinks are needed for after school practices. Please send in donations to the band room any day of the week. Drinks are needed as early as Monday.
