Band Parent Meeting this Thursday at 8pm

Parents,

We will have a meeting at 8pm on Thursday. Please be in attendance. The meeting should last no longer than 30 minutes. Students will receive extra credit if you are there. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Gibson.

MANDATORY REHEARSAL FOR 4TH Period THIS THURSDAY 5:30pm-8:00pm

4th Period Students,

We will have a guest clinician coming out this Thursday from 5:30pm-8:pm. This is a mandatory rehearsal. If you are not there you will receive a 0% for a test grade. Please make sure you are there on time.

SWBAT: WARM UP ON THEIR INSTRUMENT WITH THEIR BAND BOOK. (3rd/4th period)

INDOOR DRUM LINE SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY!

Parents or Guardians,

The Indoor Drum Line will have their first performance of the season on 2-20-16. The drum line performs at Mt Pleasant High School in Mt. Pleasant NC. I am very proud of all of the student’s accomplishments in this ensemble. Here is some important information about the event this Saturday:

DRUMLINE SCHEDULE

- DrumLine students will car pool to the event. We will leave FHS at 9am.

- We will arrive at Mt. Pleasant by 10am

- We will help pull the guards mat out for their performance at 10:54am

- We Perform at Mt. Pleasant High School at 12:36pm ($10 admission for parents)

- Award Ceremony is at 9:00pm for Percussion.

- Students can leave the event AFTER THEY Perform with a note from their parents.

All percussion members can leave with their ride after they perform. If you decided to take your child after we perform please let Mr. Gibson or a staff member know. LEADERSHIP TRAINING TOMORROW AFTER SCHOOL UNTIL 4PM

4th period Symphonic Band has a MANDATORY REHEARSAL THURSDAY from 5:30pm-8:00pm

4th Period Symphonic Band Students,

You will have a guest clinician coming out this Thursday from 5:30pm-8:00pm to work on our MPA festival music. This is a mandatory rehearsal which means if you are not there you will receive a 0 for a test grade. You all have been notified of this event several weeks in advanced. (This has also been posted on the band calendars. The one in the band room and also on this website.)

The next Mandatory rehearsal for 4th period symphonic band will be March 3rd from 5:30pm-8:00pm

Indoor Drumline WILL BE performing this weekend.

We were on the wait list. Now we are not. We will perform this weekend at Mt. Pleasant. More information will be updated to the website some point today once I receive it.

Winter Guard Information for Saturday!

Parents or Guardians,
The Winter Guard will have their second performance of the season on 2-20-16. The winter guard performs at Mt Pleasant High School in Mt. Pleasant NC. I am very proud of all of the student’s accomplishments in these ensembles. Here is some important information about the event this Saturday:
GUARD SCHEDULE
- Guard students will car pool to the event. We will leave FHS at 7am.
- We will arrive at Mt. Pleasant by 8am
- By 8:45am students will stretch and get into uniforms.(HAIR AND MAKEUP HAS TO BE DONE BEFORE ARRIVING TO THE SHOW)
- Guard Performs at Mt. Pleasant High School at 10:54am ($10 admission for parents)
- Award Ceremony is at 1:55pm for Guard.
- Students can leave the event AFTER THEY HELP PULL AUDEY KELL HIGH SCHOOLS FLOOR AT 3:57pm with a note from their parents.

All guard members can leave with their ride after they help pull the floor for Audrey Kell. Audrey Kell will be helping us pull our floor out for our performance so it is only right to return the favor. Band Book is Due Today!!

All students will need to have their band method book by February 15th. Please get the book for the instrument you play now in the 3rd or 4th period concert band class. You can go to the music store to get this book or order it online. If you have any questions see Mr. Gibson.

New Band Uniforms!

Parents and Students,

Please take an opportunity to see the possibilities of the future FHS band uniform. (B3) In order to achieve the students goal of getting new uniforms for the fall of 2016 the band will need to have a very successful mattress sale and several spring fundraisers. I am still awaiting the total prices on each piece of the uniform. (hat,plume,jacket,gantlets, pants) I anticipate the total cost of 1 uniform being anywhere between $275 - $425. With the number of the band anticipated to be over 75 next year that will be a lot of fundraising. If we do not meet our goal for the fall of 2016 we will shoot for the fall of 2017.

Please help get the word out about our mattress sale which will be at FHS on February 6th from 10am-5pm in the Aux. Gym. We need all hands on deck. Again, please get the word out.
