Rules & Regulations
Age Requirements
Age 18+ can work front line (taking orders and processing money transactions)
Ages 16 & 17 can work in prep area only
No one under age of 16
Alcohol Policies
Volunteers are not allowed to drink alcohol inside the Park
ALWAYS request ID
Limit of 2 beers per person per transaction
Signs of ‘too much to drink’?
Volunteers can refuse to sell additional alcohol to an individual
Offer (at no cost) a non-alcoholic beverage
Situation escalates contact the assigned Supervisor (Park employee)
Alcohol sales will run until….
End of 7th inning, or
Upon notification from Supervisor to stop alcohol sales
Uniforms
Shirts provided at check-in and must be returned to check-in at the end of the game
Pants - volunteers can wear shorts, capris or long pants; color must be black or khaki only
Shoes should be closed-toe and black
Hats - volunteers can wear hats (must be all matching); hats can present school name or logo
No nail polish, long nails (excessive length), facial piercings, hoop earrings (can wear ‘button style’ or ‘ball style’ earrings no larger than size of a dime)
Wedding bands/ rings are allowed to be worn
Smokers must remove their Uniform shirt when visiting the smoking area
Day in the Life of an Event Volunteer
Check-in is 2 hours prior to game start time; park gates open 1 hour prior to game start time; ‘Stand garage doors’ will open 15 minutes prior to gates opening.
Parking - volunteers will need to park in the Johnson & Wales parking deck, 116 S. Cedar St., Charlotte NC 28202. Note - take parking ticket to check-in where a Park employee will validate for free parking.
Enter park through the Left Field Gate (3rd Base)
Check-in station is located behind the ‘Home Plate Club’ (go through the doorway directly below ‘Elevator’ sign)
Pick-up uniform shirt and change
Set-up/ prepare Stand (Stand-leads will pick-up inventory and validate numbers and log numbers into ‘Stand-sheet’).
Pick-up cash for stand - cash room opens 30 minutes prior to gates opening (Stand-leads will pick-up cash and validate)
Sell! Sell! Sell! - must always be polite, smiling and hustling!
IMPORTANT - volunteers are paid based on their sells; beginning inventory minus total sales minus spoils* equals ending inventory..results in Forestview Band ‘payday’!
*Spoils are any items we have to dispose of e.g. dropped hotdog, burger not cooked satisfactorily, drink doesn’t taste right. We will have a ‘spoilage box’ where we are to retain the ‘spoils’ for counting towards our ending inventory. Please note - we do not need to retain the actual hotdog or burger in the spoilage box (we can dispose of the actual food items), we are to retain the ‘paper/ basket holder’ of the food item or the cup.
Once alcohol is cut-off begin closing-down every other register
