Veterans Day Parade Tomorrow 11-11-15

Students and Parents,

The Veteran's Day Parade is ON Veteran's Day, Wednesday, November 11th.

- The parade kicks off at 11am.

- The combined band will meet at the Shrimp Boat in Gastonia at 10am.

- Students will need to pick up their instrument and uniform at the school between 9:00am - 9:30am Then car pool over to Downtown Gastonia. (shrimp boat)

- All students who participate will receive extra credit (two 100% for a test grade) 

- All students will have to return their uniforms back at the school before being dismissed. 

- Again this year is optional for our Forestview students but it really is a great event.  I hope all can spare a couple of hours to honor our nations hero's.

Students,

I am extremely proud of all of you and your hard work this 2015 marching band season! You truly did something extraordinary yesterday at Band Beat! Congratulations on 3rd place in Class 2A in prelims. Also for achieving your season goal of making finals.  Not only did you make finals you were 6th place overall regardless of class.  This is a huge leap for our band program! You competed against some of the best bands in NC,TN,SC,VA, and GA at a Bands of America regional! You have lots to be proud of!!

Seniors you did it! 

Keep smiling and keep pushing because you all have set the tone for this year with all of our ensembles!

Schedule This Week 11-2-15 - 11-7-15

Here is the schedule for the week:

Monday - NO PRACTICE AFTER SCHOOL

Tuesday - Rehearsal from 3:30-5:30

Thursday - Rehearsal from 4pm - 7pm 

Friday - NO FOOTBALL GAME 

Saturday - Band Beat Competition in Rock Hill SC (District III Stadium) 

Call time is 9:00am. The bus will leave at 11am. The band performs at 1:15pm This is a prelims/finals competition.  If the band makes finals our performance time will be announced at the prelim award ceremony. (4:15)
ETA back to FHS is 10pm Tickets price are $12 for prelims and $12 for finals. Children 6 and under are free.
We will have time to stop for dinner after prelims. (pop-eyes, wendys, chick-fil-a, bojangles, sake express)
