Jag Classic Tomorrow

Students and Parents,

Lets host a great competition tomorrow for our guests who will be competing here at the Jag Classic. 

Set up crew needs to be at the school at 6am.

Everyone else needs to be at the school by 9:30am.

Star spangled banner people need to be in the band room by 11:30am. (Perform on the track at 11:55am)

Competition starts at 12pm and ends at 5pm. 

 ALL Students will clean up after the competition and will be dismissed by Mr. Gibson.  (This shouldn't take more than 30 min) 

Then go Trick or Treat!!!

Senior Night/8th Grade Night

Students,

We will have a band tailgate starting at 5:30pm. Hot-dogs, chips and drinks will be provided before the game. 

Game starts at 7:30pm

Seniors will be acknowledged at half-time.

Great Job at Providence High School!!

Students,

Congratulations on earning 3rd place in class 2A as well as a SUPERIOR rating at Providence last night! You competed against some of the best bands in the region and held your own.  I am extremely proud of all of you and your hard work! Keep on pushing and evolving your show! You all did amazing!

A representative from North Atlantic photo will be in the band room from 3:00- 7:00 in the band room.  They will go over several options with you if you would like to purchase pictures. There is no obligation to buy photos.

Seniors,

We will have our traditional senior dinner this Tuesday 10-27-15 at sandy plains church (in the hut) at 6:00pm. (students only)

Information been handed out about to our Seniors.  If they have not received the form/ invitation please see Mr. Gibson.   

Senior night will be Friday 10-30-15.  You will be honored at halftime with the football seniors and cheerleaders.  You may have your parents or guardians escort you during this time. 

Congratulations seniors on a great year! We are all proud of your hard work and dedication to the FHS Band Program!!

October 28th 2015

Parents,

Next Wednesday October 28th a representative from north atlantic photos will be in the band room from 3:30pm-7pm if you would like to purchase band pictures of your child.  The students took their band pictures last week in their uniform with their instrument.  They will go over several packages with you if you choose to buy them.  There is no obligation to buy these pictures.

I am extremely proud of all of your hard work yesterday at North Gaston and East Lincoln. 

You earned 1st place Music, 1st Place General Effect, 2nd Place guard, 2nd Place Percussion, 2nd place Drum Major 1st Place overall in Class 2A at North Gaston.  You also earned a SUPERIOR rating overall.

You also earned 1st place Music, 1st place General Effect and 1st Place overall in Class 2A as East Lincoln. As well as a SUPERIOR rating.

You are all doing a great job.  Keep pushing to make the next performance even better. It is all about the journey and evolution of your marching show.  Keep up the great work.  Again I am proud of all of you!

Friday 
The Band will travel to North Gaston for the football game.  Students will need to wear jeans/khaki pants band tee shirt and bring a jacket.(dress for the weather) We will only perform as a pep-band. We should arrive back to the School between 10:30pm-11:00pm.

Saturday 
The band will be performing a double.  The first competition we will be going to is North Gaston.  Call time is at 11am. We perform at North Gaston at 3:30pm. After we perform at North Gaston we will load the trailers/buses and head to East Lincoln. We perform at East Lincoln at 5:55pm.  Estimated time back to FHS is 10:30pm.

Football Game Tonight

Students and Parents,

Tonight's Football game has been moved to Stewart Cramer.  The band will not be traveling away to the game tonight.

HOWEVER the band will travel AWAY to North Gaston and Ashbrook this year.

Jag Classic Cancelled Tomorrow

Hello Everyone,

As you know the weather is not looking so bright for tomorrows competition. I have looked at every option to make this event run as smoothly as possible rain or shine.  At the end of the day it is about the safety of all our students.  I spoke to Mr. Carper this morning and unfortunately due to the rain that is expected to soak our football field we will have to cancel tomorrows competition.  I am sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.  

Currently we will try to reschedule the event for October 31st.  I understand you might have plans that day but we will need to try to raise money for our band program.  

If you have any individual questions or concerns please feel free to email me.   Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.   Stay dry this weekend!
