MPA SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE

Congratulation to all symphonic band members for your superior performance at the MPA festival yesterday. Superior job! Keep up the great work! 

MPA PERFORMANCE TODAY 3-24-15

Parents,

 I am very proud of every member of the FHS Symphonic Band.  Each student continues to grow and mature on their instrument.  We have been focusing on improvement day in and day out.  It is an honor and privilege to work with your child.

The Symphonic Band will be performing at the NC MPA (Music Performance Assessment) Festival on Tuesday March 24th, 2015 at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg NC. This is a mandatory performance.

All students will need to be in Concert Black Attire. (SOLID BLACK BOTTOMS. (long dress pants/skirt) SKIRTS MUST BE BELOW THE KNEES! SOLID BLACK TOP. (3/4 or long sleeve must cover shoulders.  Gentlemen must have a button down black dress shirt.) SOLID BLACK SHOES/SOCKS/ BLACK BELT. NO EXCESSIVE JEWELRY. ALL STUDENTS MUST MEET FHS DRESS CODE STANDARDS.)

Students will report to the band room at 4:30pm.

We will Depart FHS at 5:00pm.

We will arrive at Hickory Ridge High School at 6:15pm.

The band will warm up at 6:55pm.  

The Band will perform at 7:30pm.

We will depart from HRHS at 8:00pm.

We will arrive back at FHS at 9pm.

Students will need to eat dinner before we depart.(We might stop for dinner.  It just depends if the festival is running on time.) Parents are more than welcome to come to hear our performance at 7:30pm. All students will have to ride the bus to HRHS and back to Gastonia. If you have any questions feel free to call or email.

 I have been reminding you all week long that there would NOT be a rehearsal tonight from 5:30pm to 7:30pm because our clinician will be coming during school (4th period) to work with the group. Our clinician will be here tomorrow to work with 4th period from 1:30pm-3:00pm.
